A TL604 / SN99661 Adaptor

Do you have an amplifier with a failed TL604 or SN99661? As I’m sure you have discovered, this IC is no longer made. These ICs appeared in many late 70s and 80s Peaveys as well as some Gallien-Krueger. At one time, Peavey offered an adaptor kit to utilize a more modern part as a replacement. However, it appears that kit is too discontinued. JDP Amplifiers now offers a solution, a drop in replacement using a modern part and a custom made adaptor board!

This adapter board is truly tiny! It’s only slightly larger than the original IC. It offers the same characteristics as the original TL604 part but using parts that are still being produced today.
Pictured below is my adaptor in a Peavey Classic VT-212 that I had come into my shop for repairs.

The best part of this adapter is there is no assembly necessary. Once you receive it, it’s literally plug and play. The logo marks the top of the part and is nearest pins 1 and 8. Simply remove the old part (or desolder it) and install the new one. It could not be any easier!
I created a full datasheet for this adaptor.
NOTE: This adaptor is designed to use 4 different modern ICs to avoid future obsolescence and supply chain issues. You may receive any one of the following 4 adaptors (top and bottom pictured). They are all functionally equivalent.

I sell these for $20 each. Contact me on my page or at JDPAmplifiers@gmail.com or 815-517-7170 to purchase.
