The Harness

A Compact Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone

The Harness omnidirectional condenser microphone is designed for musical instrument amplification in live sound applications. It is voiced for a flat frequency response with a slight peak above 12 KHz to bring out the clarity and harmonics. The omnidirectional pattern frees you from colorization effects from off-axis sounds, and completely eliminates proximity effects that come with close mic use. The microphone is available in a low noise or a high SPL version to suit a wide range of audio levels. The mic is powered by phantom power. A special low-power version is available for use with wireless battery packs. The small size allows placement where never before possible.

The Harness uses real Sitka Spruce wood, cut with laser precision. The logo is artfully burned into the wood and a light protective coating is applied to preserve it. The standard cord is a 6ft XLR to a straight 1/8″ that plugs into the side of the microphone itself. It uses phantom power to operate. Optional cords include lengths of 6ft, 10ft and 15ft, and are available in straight or right angle at the 1/8″ end.

Quick overview:

  • Uniform omnidirectional pick-up pattern for minimum colorization of sound
  • Flat frequency response with a slight rise above 12kHz for accurate reproduction
  • Adhesive mounting for quick application to multiple instruments
  • Direct connection to many brands of wireless mic pack (requires optional cable and low power version of mic)

  • 149 dB max SPL handling (High SPL version)
