Mark Moyer Mod
(After I completed the Mark Moyer mod on his Fender Custom Vibrolux Reverb)
The amp is awesome. I played it twice last week in a full band setting in a friends basement and it was just great. Clean, great tone, hiss is entirely gone, and I found myself using reverb more than I have before. In addition to getting much better cleaner tones more up the volume knob, I’m starting to explore some overdrive, distortion and fuzz pedal settings a bit more now because the breakup isn’t so early (a good thing!). The fact mine is a blond one and sounds so good, it makes me really happy.
Another guy in the group just bought a more recent year Vibrolux, and while for some reason his doesn’t seem to have the usual hiss, he noticed how terrible his reverb is compared to mine and the overall liveliness mine has. He trades amps in and out a lot so I don’t know if he’ll keep it, but if he does and wants to do a mod I’ll point him your way.
